Machine Roomless Lifts do not require a separate motor room, and are absolutely
quiet in operation beacuse of the silent gearless motor. They are space
saving, combining comfort and very low energy consumption and running
Machine Roomless Lifts make optimum use of space. Machinery is within the shaft
on top of the car (no plant room). With a capacity of up to 21 persons, travel
speeds of up to 1.6 m/s and travel of up to 16 floors; machine roomless lifts
are a great choice of lift.
We are now including Evacuation and Fire Fighting Lift specification packages
using machine roomless lift technology.
Electric Traction Lifts have a capacity of up to 2500kgs with travelling speeds
of up to 3.0 m/s and vertical travel of up to 40 floors. Because of this large
capacity, electric traction lifts are ideal for heavy duty lift systems. The
machinery for these lifts are contained in a separate plant room and they have
a variety of applications including:

Hydraulic Lifts are available for standard low cost and specialist installations
with capacity of up to 4000 kgs. With speeds of up to 0.6 m/s and suitability

Northern Lifts have recently become the first lift installation company in
Scotland to supply, install and test a number of 8 person - 630kg machine
roomless passenger lifts in Corus bi-steel lift shafts.
The prefabricated lift shafts arrive on site fully dimensioned with all door and
control panel apartures preformed. Erection of the shaft units is a rapid
process, enhancing the building programme.
The lift installation varies only slightly from a traditional build but the main
advantages are accurate dimensions of the shaft +/- only a few millimeters, a
clean wind and watertight environment allowing our engineers a trouble
free installation and ensuring any pre-finish snagging is kept to an
